North Warwickshire Server Visualisation Project

North Warwickshire Borough Council were undertaking a large project to replace failing heating, lighting, cabling, network, telephone and power systems. The size of their server room needed to be halved and energy use and costs had to be halved. It was a one off opportunity to make major changes. The Council received £35,000 from IEWM to part fund a server virtualisation project. Download

National Improvement and Efficiency Strategy 2008-11 (Archived)

The West Midlands RIEP was set up in April 2008 following the publication of the National Improvement and Efficiency Strategy (NIES) by the Department for Communities and Local Government. The strategy devolved £185m of Improvement and Efficiency funding from Central Government over the years 2008-11 to the nine Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnerships (RIEPs) and outlined plans to simplify the improvement architecture, making it easier for councils and partnerships to access the support they require. 2014 EU Directives

The 2014 EU Procurement Directives have been adopted by the EU institutions and came into force on 17 April 2014. EU member states now have 2 years to implement them in national legislation. The UK government is aiming to implement these directives quickly to benefit as soon as possible from the improved flexibilities they offer. Download

National Procurement Strategy for Local Government in England 2014

National Advisory Group for Local Government Procurement, together with the Local Government Association launched the National Procurement Strategy for Local Government in England. This strategy sets out a vision for local government procurement and encourages all councils in England to engage with the delivery of outcomes in four key areas: Making Savings, Supporting Local Economies, Leadership and Modernising Procurement. The strategy is fully endorsed by the Local Government Association’s Improvement and Innovation Board. National Advisory Group owns the strategy and is responsible for overseeing it’s implementation including preparation of periodic update reports. Download
