WMiC, Issue 16 - West Midlands’ employment and houses price statistics and local child obesity data

Some recent releases relevant to councils and their partners include:

Office of National Statistics - Regional Labour Market Statistics May 2017. This sets out by region the rates of employment, unemployment and economic activity for the three months ending March 2017 and compares them to the rates in the last reporting period and with those a year ago. Among other things the report also covers the changes to the number of jobs in the workforce and the actual hours worked.

HM Land Registry - UK House Price Index (HPI) for March 2017. Shows average house prices for the UK and its constituent nations and regions and how they have changed compared to the previous month and the previous year. Among other things, it also sets out the average price and percentage change by property type for England, Wales and London, how property purchases were funded and the number of repossessions by nation and region.

Public Health England - Child obesity and excess weight: small area level data. This release contains a wealth of data presented as 3 years of aggregated data from the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP). The information is provided at four different geographical levels: local authority; clinical commissioning group; electoral ward; and middle super output area.
